Friday in Cordoba

On Friday we loaded into the bus to head to Cordoba for the day. We saw the Sinagoga de Córdoba, the Alcázar of the Christian Kings and the Mosque/Cathedral. In short, a lot of really old buildings. The cathedral was by far my favorite. It was originally a mosque and then converted into a cathedral after the Christians conquered the city, so there is a mix of muslim and christian architecture. Inside there are lots of columns and arches; I believe it's sometimes called a forest and I think that is a good comparison. To leave the historic part of the city, we walked across a roman bridge. We went back to Granada for the night and then headed home to Denia on Saturday. I really enjoyed the trip, but would love to return to Granada someday when it's not rainy and cold.
