Javea and Obama
Tuesday afternoon we went to a town called Javea. It is only about 15 minutes away from here. We were greated at the town hall and some town officials (not exactly sure what their jobs were) showed us around the town. We saw a church that used to be a fortress and climbed to the roof to get a great view of the town. We also went to a small museum in the town. Then we went to a restaurant and got food which was very fun. It wasn't dinner--more like tapas, which would be like appetizers in the U.S. Obama's inauguration was all over the news here. People here probably know more about news in the U.S. than people in the U.S. do! Anyway, it was interesting to get the Spain point of view on the event. People here are VERY excited about Obama being President and have hopes that it is the start of a change, especially economically, not just in the U.S. but worldwide. There will be pictures of Javea on my shutterfly site soon....
