La Comida

The food here is good, and my mama loves that I am not a picky eater. OFr the most part, it is similar ingredients, prepared a little differently. My abuela makes amazing paella. It's a rice dish, with other things such as meat, potatoes, or seafood in it. It is prepared in a round dish and is seriously like a piece of art. Meals aren't too different from the U.S. One difference I have noticed is that sometimes they eat things like salad from a main dish in the middle of the table rather than dishing it out. They have a lot of different cheeses that are really good, and a lot of seafood. In general Eva (my mama) gives me a ton of food and is constantly trying to get to me to eat more. The ironic thing is that she is on a diet. So she'll make me a big plate of food with potatoes, meat, vegetables etc. and she'll have some veggies and bread. Today at lunch, we had a tiramisu type of desert. She asked me how much I wanted, and I told her a little bit. She used her knife to show me huge piece, and asked me if that was a good size. I said it was really big, so she cut it about a fourth of an inch smaller. Haha. Thanks mama.
